Craig Marchuk

Capital Markets

Craig joined Forbes & Manhattan in December and comes with deep experience in M&A lifecycle management and transaction execution. Craig has 10+ years of experience managing M&A transactions, structuring unique solutions and raising capital. Craig started his career at boutique energy-focused investment banks but was most recently at Nutrien, the world’s largest provider of agricultural inputs, services and solutions.  In his role, he was responsible for the analysis and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures that further Nutrien’s global strategy implementation. Craig played a key role in 20+ transactions totalling over $75Bn in enterprise value.

 Craig will be a key leader at Forbes & Manhattan focusing on deal lifecycle management from transaction ideation, through deal negotiations and structuring, to supporting deal documentation, and ultimately monetization.

Dmitri Kralik

Capital Markets

Dmitri Kralik is joining the firm as a Senior Analyst.  He is a CFA charterholder and is joining F&M from Ridge Canada, where he helped build the company to one of the leading cyber insurance companies in Canada. His primary responsibilities will be to support and analyze investment opportunities.

Dr. Andreas Rompel

Technical

Dr. Andreas Rompel has over 30 years of exploration and mining experience in a wide range of roles, including VP of Exploration, Country Manager and President & CEO. Dr. Rompel has worked in a variety of commodities, including most precious, base and energy metals. Previously, Dr. Rompel worked for Anglo American and Hochschild Mining in Africa and Latin America. He is often sought out as a keynote speaker on the subject of exploration and mining technology. Dr. Rompel brings to the Forbes & Manhattan Group an expert ability to assess new projects, high-level project organizational and multi-lingual skills. 

Fred Leigh

Capital Markets

Fred has played a key founding and executive role in the junior resources sector for nearly four decades, and has founded, director and invested in many public companies. He plays a critical role at F&M in assisting CEOs and CFOs in funding, market support and business advice.

Grant Sboros

Managing Director, Africa Mining

Grant Sboros worked as the Chief Financial Officer of Katanga Mining Limited from 2017 to 2019 when he was appointed as Executive Director of Forbes Manhattan looking after Africa Mining assets. From 2013 to 2017 he was DCFO of Mopani Copper Mines PLC. From 2007 until 2013 Grant was Head of Auditing as a Deloitte partner in Mozambique. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Honors degree in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa. Mr. Sboros has extensive mining experience in Africa in both operations and finance.

 

Martin Schuermann

Martin is a serial entrepreneur and cleantech leader, spearheading ventures across numerous industries. He's been active in clean energy since 2009 and served as the CEO of Vision Motor Corp. Schuermann pioneered the development and commercialization of zero emission transportation solutions using hydrogen as the dominant energy storage medium.

Matt Simpson

Capital Markets

Prior to joining F&M, Matt worked for the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC), a subsidiary of Rio Tinto. Within this profession, he held several senior management roles including Mine General Manager making him accountable for over 650 people. Prior to joining IOC, Matt was a process engineer for Hatch, designing and constructing metallurgical refineries globally. Since 2010, Matt has personally raised $127M, been a key member of teams that raised a further $450M and successfully obtained binding commitments for bids to acquire two assets totalling $4.1B. Matt is part of the F&M Executive team involved in the selection, deal negotiation and diligence of new companies brought into the group. 

Ryan Ptolemy

Financial

Ryan Ptolemy is a CPA, CGA and CFA charter holder with a B.A. from Western University. He serves as CFO to a number of public and private companies in the mining sector, particularly exploration and development stage companies in South America and Africa. Mr. Ptolemy formerly served as CFO for an independent investment dealer in Toronto where he was responsible for financial reporting, auditing, budgeting and internal controls.
